Overview

The biannual conference on Laboratory Approaches to Romance Phonology ( LARP VII) aims to bring together international researchers who are interested in all areas of phonetics and phonology of the Romance languages , especially within the  laboratory phonology approach. Within the last two decades, research in the paradigm of laboratory phonology have expanded significantly so that phonetics and phonology are discussed from an interdisciplinary and unique angle. LARP aims at providing a forum for interdisciplinary discussion of global research in the experimental study of phonetics and phonology of Romance and related areas, such as language acquisition, language variation and change, prosody, speech pathology and speech technologies.
The symposium will be held for the first time in Europe,
 and will be organized by the Laboratoire Parole et Langage, CNRS and Aix-Marseille Université, Aix-en-Provence, France, and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona , Spain). Financial support is provided bythe Aix-Marseille Université, the CNRS, the Ville d'Aix-en-Provence, the Conseil Général des Bouches-du-Rhône, and the Région Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. LARP 2014 is held under the auspices of the Brain and Language Research Institute at Aix-Marseille Université.
